I share my experiences with you from many aspects of my professional life — college, professional organizations, networking events, internships, etc. — with the hope that they will benefit you in some way.

Like most of you, I am just starting out my career in Public Relations. I have found that learning from college students and new professionals as well as established professionals has been very helpful. Use this blog as just one of many resources to assist you on your pre-professional journey. It is so important to understand your strengths and weaknesses, and grow from that understanding; it’s a never ending, yet vital, process to self-discovery.

Here’s a little bit about me…

I was a gymnast for 13 years, which is why I am individually competitive but also a team player.

I went to two high schools and two universities. It may take a couple tries to discover the best fit for me, but I always find that perfect (balanced) match.

I live my life by trying to achieve the perfect balance for me. It’s too much to go into now, maybe I’ll write a post about it…

In the last few years, I have learned that I take a while to open up my true personality (months and months). I have no idea why, but I have come to appreciate it.

I am my worst critic. Ask any who has worked with me for more than a few months and I know they would tell you so since most have told me. This is my biggest flaw and the source of most of my stress. I’m working on it and I’ll let you know if I have an epiphany any time soon.

I was a religious studies minor. I think it is so important to understand people and cultures different from your own. I switched from an all girls Catholic high school my junior year to the local public school to escape the closed-minded, one dimensional views on life and experience an open, diverse and free-thinking atmosphere.
